Background
Our multinational client was a high volume consumer of a particular chemical. They wanted to identify manufacturers capable of making the material in a more sustainable (lower carbon) way.
As an independent third party, Fresh Perspectiv could undertake this research anonymously.
Approach
Fresh Perspectiv identified different routes to the required chemical, determining the benefits of the approaches in terms of level of development, sustainability, supply chain, relative costs etc.
For the more interesting approaches, companies were then identified and interviewed in order to understand more detail about the technologies and in particular, the capabilities of the companies of interest.
Outcome
Fresh Perspectiv identified a shortlist of organisations with the capability to develop products addressing the client’s needs. For each, a trajectory to market was outlined along with current barriers. The findings enabled the client to develop a strategy for both shorter term (lower volume) and longer term (higher volume) material.
